Okay, it’s no ‘Star Wars’ trailer… or even a ‘Jurassic World’ trailer, but not to be completely left out, ‘Terminator Genisys‘ has released a new promotional piece, described as a “living one-sheet poster.”

It doesn’t give too much away, but the image of a T-800 skull (if you can call it that) crumbling to dust is at least ominous and… interesting.

Check for yourself below:

The image recalls an hourglass.  Does that indicate that we’re counting down the time until… perhaps a new trailer?  Or even more disturbingly is time running out?  And for whom?

Very few details have emerged about the movie, but then again, it’s still a ways off.  Arnold Schwartzenegger reprises his role as the original model, having seen better days, possibly to permanently pass the torch to a new cast to carry on the franchise in upcoming movies (which are planned).  We know that the general plot follows that of the first movie with an adult John Conner (played by Jason Clarke) sending Kyle Reece (Jai Courtney) back in time to find Sarah Conner (Emilia Clarke) to save her from a killer cyborg so that she can give birth to John the leading freedom fighter against the Terminators who have conquered the future and have nearly eliminated the human race.  But this version of Sarah Conner is described as being quite different from the version played by Linda Hamilton in the original movies.

Sooooo, does that make this a reboot?  A sequel?  Courtney himself admitted that he didn’t know “how you brand [the film] correctly.”  Co-star J.K. Simmons referred to it as a “re-imagining.”

Guess we’ll have to wait and see.  Luckily, ‘Terminator: Genisys’ arrives fairly early in the big summer movie cycle, on July 1st, 2015.

What do you think?  Looking forward to a seq.. reboo.. er, re-imagining of the ‘Terminator’ franchise?
