Greg Finley (‘The Secret Life Of The American Teenager,’ ‘Star Crossed’) has been added to the cast of ‘The Flash‘ as the villain Girder.  We previously reported that the producers were looking to add this comic book villain to the show, but unfortunately we still don’t quite know how the character will be depicted on screen.  In the comics, Girder is a gigantic metal muscleman.  We’re not sure if the show’s budget could accommodate the same depiction.  In the past, characters like Doomsday on ‘Smallville’ and Shrapnel on ‘Arrow‘ had to be significantly stripped down to accommodate a TV budget.

It is said that he will at least have metallic skin and that his powers will stem from the same accident that gave Barry Allen his powers, as depicted on ‘Arrow.’  Girder is set to appear in episodes 6 and 7 of ‘The Flash.’ In the comics, the character was created by Geoff Johns, who happens to be executive producing this show and who is writing the pilot episode of the series.  The show is also co-executive produced by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg.

The series will star Grant Gustin as The Flash/Barry Allen, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne, Tom Cavanaugh as Harrison Wells, Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Candice Patterson as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Francisco Ramon, Robbie Amell as Ronnie Raymond and John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen. Guest stars will include Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/The Arrow, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Robert Knepper as Clock King/William Tockman and Kelly Frye as Plastique/Bette Sans Souci.  The first episode will be directed by David Nutter.
