After many months of waiting, we finally started to get actual footage from the upcoming fourth season of ‘Game of Thrones’. Unfortunately, the first piece of video came in a six-second blip. Then, earlier this week, we got a few more seconds as the HBO series’ official Vine account shared five teasers featuring fan favorite characters Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and Jon Snow, as well as a new occupant of Westeros named Oberyn Martell. Now, the network has unveiled the first full trailer for the next chapter in their acclaimed fantasy/drama series.

Despite the Golden Globes dominating most televisions on Sunday night, HBO decided to schedule the return of Lena Dunham’s ‘Girls’ and premiere their newest show ‘True Detective’. And it was during the latter that we treated to a full-length look at an extremely packed season based on the works of George R.R. Martin. Rather than keep you waiting with more words, I’ll just direct you to the trailer below:

As is the norm in this show, there is so much awesome stuff going on. Even in this one minute forty-five second video, we get a quick look at what all the characters are up to this season. As we’ve already heard, King Joffrey is set to wed Margaery Tyrell in the “Purple Wedding”, which we appear to see a little bit of in the trailer. But in addition to the joining of two houses, we learn what the Mother of Dragons intends to do when she returns from exile, Mance Rayder and his Wildlings’ projected course of action, and the Halfman’s seemingly bleak fate, among a ton of other things. We even see Theon Greyjoy looking a bit more pleased than we’ve seen him lately.
