SPOILER ALERT!  If you have not watched all of Season One, this article contains major spoilers!

Things looked bleak at the end of last season, when Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) and The Undertaking leveled The Glades.  Now with the city in shambles, thousands are left homeless including Roy Harper.  And those are the lucky ones.  Besides the destruction of The Glades, the biggest shocker in last year’s finale was the death of Malcolm’s son and Oliver’s best friend Tommy (Colin Donnell).

The question now is, can the hooded vigilante recover from such devastation and loss and rise up once more to be the man his city’s people need?  Are the odds now too insurmountable?

Returning for Season 2 along with Stephen Amell  as Oliver Queen/’The Hood’ will be the familiar faces of Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, Willa Holland as Thea Queen and Colton Haynes as Roy Harper with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.  Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson and Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak have been bumped up to series regulars.  Bennett’s Wilson has so far only been seen in flashbacks, so expect to see the killer mercenary re-emerge in the present.

In addition, The CW is adding some new faces; Caity Lotz as Black Canary, Michael Jai White as Bronze Tiger, Kevin Alejandro as Sebastian (Brother) Blood and Bex Taylor-Klaus as Sin.  At least one of these pops up in the trailer!  And of course, there’s The Flash who will appear in order to test the waters for a possible spin-off.

Check out the somber trailer for season two below:

At the very least, it doesn’t look like Oliver is going to wallow in his loss for long as he is quickly back in action… against the Black Canary!  Yep, it’s our first glimpse of the “Blonde Bombshell” in action.  We’ve already learned that this BC is Sara Lance, Laurel’s sister who seemed to die at the beginning of the first season.  It looks like she, like Ollie, had to develop some new skills in order to survive on her own and now she’s back!

Are you excited about ‘Arrow’ season two?  The premier is October 9th at 8 pm ET.
