Usually, a publicist or press releases are the ones to reveal details about a film in development, but in this day and age of social networking sites, people at the source seem to be the ones dropping all the juicy information bombs. Of the directors working right now, no one unveils more exclusives than Bryan Singer. The ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ director has been tweeting about his new cast members as he acquires them. As they joined, we started to get a pretty good idea of which characters would be appearing as well. However, there are still a few actors whose characters are still a mystery. A big one that has eluded us is Peter Dinklage’s villain, but a few others might have just been cleared up.

Singer recently shared a Vine video featuring a few chairs on set, all of which featured character names on them. Check it out below and see if you can spot the new names:

It goes a bit fast, so just so that we’re all on the same page, here’s the list of characters who currently have seats on set: Logan, Xavier, Magneto, Storm, Bishop, Kitty Pryde, Bobby “Iceman” Drake, Peter “Colossus” Rasputin, Blink, and James “Warpath” Proudstar.

Back when Omar Sy was announced, he was rumored to be playing Bishop. This practically proves that rumor to be true. Then, Blink is the character that Fan Bingbing was rumored to play, so that explains those chairs, but there’s still one more to be accounted for.

James “Warpath” Proudstar is an Apache Native American mutant who possesses the superhuman strength, speed, and stamina, plus the ability of flight. He’s been prominently featured on various teams such as the X-Men, X-Force, New Mutants, and Hellions. Now, he’ll be making his big screen debut in this upcoming film, but at first thought, it was a mystery as to who would be playing him. Then, I remembered that BooBoo Stewart was announced as a cast member at the same time as Fan Bingbing. I thought that he’d be playing an Asian character, but he also has Native American, Russian, and Scottish ancestry from his father’s side of the family, so he definitely fits the bill for Warpath. Also, not that I’ve seen it or anything, but I believe that he played a Native American in the ‘Twilight’ film series, so this isn’t new territory for the young entertainer at all.

These casting choice, though not officially official, are very interesting. It’s uncertain as to how big his or her roles are going to be just yet, but Singer has said in the past that each mutant picked to join the project was picked for a reason. I have a feeling that Sy will have a bigger role considering Bishop’s part in ‘Days of Future Past’, but I am curious to see how Stewart and Bingbing factor into the bigger picture.

What do you think about this casting news? How do you think Blink and Warpath will make an impact in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’? Is Omar Sy the right guy for Bishop? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
