As promised, a new trailer for ‘Man of Steel’ has arrived!

If there is one thing to remember about Zack Snyder’s version of the Superman origin story, it is that you need to let go of any preconceived notions you may have from the past. This new reboot is fresh and a lot more realistic. It really reminds me of the same technique that Christopher Nolan had when he rebooted the Batman franchise with ‘The Dark Knight.’ This shouldn’t be a surprise as Nolan is the executive director of the film. While not as dark as that movie, ‘Man of Steel’ does have a grittiness to it.

The trailer starts off with the destruction of Krypton and Kal-El’s parents sending him to Earth. For 2/3 of the trailer, you see Clark Kent’s journey to find himself. If you’re wondering where all the action will be, it’s in the last minute of the trailer which proves that it will not all be solemn and melancholy for the superhero. There are great glimpses of Michael Shannon as General Zod as well as Amy Adams as Lois Lane as she asks what the S on Superman’s chest stands for.

While the tone of the majority of the trailer for ‘Man of Steel’ is quite opposite than ‘Iron Man 3’ and ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ where the emphasis is on the non-stop action, the movie is none the less on our movies to see in 2013 list.

See why in the trailer below!

‘Man of Steel’ stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Laurence Fishburne, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix and Michael Kelly and will be in theaters on June 14, 2013.
