With ‘The Walking Dead’ wrapping up their current season next Sunday, ‘Talking Dead’ host Chris Hardwick needs something to do in the off-season. Sure, he has his stand-up comedy and comic con season is almost upon us, so he’ll most definitely be at some of the big ones, but he’ll also have another TV gig on another network to occupy his time until AMC calls him back again.

Over on BBC America, Hardwick and his cohorts Matt Mira and Jonah Ray will host the newest addition to the channel’s Supernatural Saturday block of programming known as ‘The Nerdist’, an all-new comedy-variety talk show where they’re joined by a cadre of guests to talk about a number of subjects such as “the awesomeness of clones, space travel, sci-fi hotties, zombie survival tactics, and so much more”.

Over the weekend, a brand new press release revealed some of the big names that will be joining the Nerdist crew as guests this season. Naturally, as ‘Doctor Who’ is returning on the same night, the gang will be joined by the Doctor and his newest companion, Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman, to talk about the show’s 50th anniversary this season. Additionally, the premiere episode will feature ‘Wild Things’ host/’Lord of the Rings’ star Dominic Monaghan, ‘Orphan Black’ star Tatiana Maslany, and comedian Matt Kirshen.

For episode two, a few of Hardwick’s friends from AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ will grace his new show when creator Robert Kirkman and actor Michael Rooker stop by to attempt to guess the value of comic collectibles.

Other guests set to appear on the inaugural season of ‘The Nerdist’ are Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, Elijah Wood, Katee Sackhoff, Guillermo Del Toro, Gillian Jacobs, Buzz Aldrin, and ‘Doctor Who’ alum Karen Gillan as a special celebrity correspondent.
