Forget ‘The Hunger Games’! Get ready for one of the most brutal online computer battles to begin! That’s right. It’s the annual sale of the coveted San Diego Comic Con badges and it begins at 9AM PST on February 16th.

Last year’s Comic Con tickets sold out in less than 90 minutes and this year, it’s expected to go even faster! So to make sure you don’t get left out, head over to the Comic Con site and make sure you have a Member ID set up. You won’t be able to purchase tickets unless you have one. But don’t wait too long! The Member ID site will close on February 12, 2013 and will not reopen before badge sales begin.

The cost of a 4-day Comic Con badge for adults cost $150 ($175 if you want to go to the Wednesday night preview). For those active in the military or kids ages 13-17 years (juniors), the 4-day badges cost $75 ($87 to attend the Wednesday preview night). If you just want to spend one day, Thursday-Saturday tickets are $42 for adults and $21 for juniors and military. Sunday passes are $24 for adults and $12 for juniors and military. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.

This year, Comic Con will be held from July 18-21 at the San Diego Convention Center and boasts a gathering of guests, stars, visitors and vendors covering everything from sci-fi, fantasy, horror, video games, collectibles and comics. The biggest draw, however, are the panels covering  TV shows and upcoming film releases.

Last year, attendees were able to see Robert Downey Jr, dance his way into Hall H while debuting footage from  ‘Iron Man 3,’ a reunion panel with the cast of ‘Firefly,’ a first look at the trailers for ‘Fringe,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘True Blood’ and even ‘Man of Steel!’ What will this year’s con bring?

Comic-Con will take place before the opening of ‘The Wolverine’ so hopefully there’ll be a panel featuring Hugh Jackman there. ‘Elysium,’ ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,’ ‘Riddick,’ ‘Ender’s Game’ and ‘Thor: The Dark World’ all will be released within months of the con so hopefully these movies will be represented. Wouldn’t it be great if Vin Diesel made it to Comic Con?!

Marvel always has had a big presence at Comic-Con and with ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ seeing a 2014 release, as well as ‘Ant-Man,’ ‘Doctor Strange’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ in the works, no doubt there will be lots of exclusives to be revealed.

For all the Whovians, Comic Con has been host of much ‘Doctor Who’ news and many cast members in the recent past years and with this year being the 50th anniversary of the series, the likelihood of a Time Lord presence looks good.

For more information on badge purchases and getting a Member ID, head over to the Comic Con site.

Good luck and come back and let us know if you were one of the lucky people to be able to get badges!
