A second TV spot from the Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ is now online and we have it here for you to see!

The spot first aired during the World Series and just like the prior TV commercial, it contains some new footage. Of note, there’s a good look at the trolls that Bilbo runs into in the film, some nifty sword wielding action and a certain gold ring that is “tied to the fate of all Middle-earth.”

But more impressive is the fact that this TV spot is the first one in television history to advertise that a film would be shown in HFR (high frame rate) 3D. As it has been reported in the past, Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ will be the first film to be released in 48 frames per second (as opposed to the traditional 24 frames per second). The higher speed is supposed to give the film a more realistic look but some audiences who have had a chance to see it in previews have not been too kind about the technique. Because of this, Warner Bros. has limited the number of theaters offering HFR 3D and asked theaters owners not to add an upcharge for the showings of this version.

Regardless, the film looks epic and will surely be a visual cornucopia for Hobbit fans. Check out the commercial below and let us know if you’ll be watching ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ in HFR 3D.
