The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Concept Art

‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ is expected to be the first Marvel Studios original series on the just-launched Disney+ streaming service.  Production is expected to begin soon and in the meantime, the service has released the documentary ‘Marvel Studios: Expanding the Universe’ which has offered some concept art that at least gives an idea of how these returning heroes and villains will look on the show.

Have a look at the art below:

Despite ‘Avengers: Endgame’ setting up Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson to take over as Captain America, this new costume design is all-Falcon– mostly red and white, with some black but no blue.  There’s even a beak-like gold V on the front.  Not sure how I feel about the bald head, though.

And here is his co-star, Sebastian Stan as James “Bucky” Barnes or The Winter Soldier.  The biggest change is his haircut.  The comic-accurate mop top is gone, but the metal arm is back.

Also returning is Sharon Carter, played by Emily VanCamp:

In that uniform, she looks more than a little Mockingbird-like.

Barbara “Bobbi” Morse was portrayed by ‘The Orville’s  Adrianne Palicki on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, but at this point, it’s questionable whether or not that show has any impact on the films and these new shows.  In the comics, Mockingbird was married for a few years to Hawkeye, Clint Barton, but in the MCU, Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton is married to Linda Cardellini’s Laura Barton and they have several kids, so that storyline won’t be followed.  Is Sharon Carter, a.k.a. Agent 13, being set up to replace her?

And finally, we have a more comic book-accurate take on Zemo, or Baron Zemo, as portrayed by Daniel Brühl.  Brühl has already been photographed wearing this jacket, with fur lining, similar to what the villain wears in the comics, but we have yey to see him in the famous mask.  In the comics, Zemo suffers an injury that deforms his face.  It remains to be seen if Brühl’s character will undergo a similar injury on ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’.  (It’s kind of doubtful, considering how little time these characters actually spend wearing their masks.)

Hopefully, it won’t be long before we get a glimpse of the actors wearing these costumes.  What do you think so far?
