Stephen Amell Tweets A Final Look At Him In The 'Arrow' Costume

It’s the end of an era.  Stephen Amell has wrapped his final scene as Oliver Queen decked out as Green Arrow.  Of course, he may have a few additional scenes to shoot in his civilian guise.  But after eight seasons, ‘Arrow’ is signing off.  The final episode should air early in 2020.

For now, check out a photo of Amell in the Green Arrow suit for the last time, which the actor shared on Twitter:

‘Arrow’s final season is heavily tied to the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, which may explain how former cast members such as Paul Blackthorne and Emily Bett Rickards are going to make return appearances.  The show’s creators are cooking up a potential spin-off, ‘Green Arrow and the Canaries’, which will feature Katherine McNamara’s Mia Smoak taking up the mantle of Star City’s defender, alongside Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance), and Juliana Harkavy (Dinah Drake).

‘Arrow’ laid the foundation for The CW’s entire “Arrowverse” of shows– ‘The Flash’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, ‘Supergirl’, ‘Batwoman’, and ‘Black Lightning’.  The latter was not originally connected to the other shows, but that looks to change with “Crisis.”

The show will go on hiatus in November, following the release of Season 8’s 7th episode, entitled “Purgatory.”  When it returns on January 14th, it will air at a special time, at 8pm for its “Crisis” crossover episode.  “Green Arrow and the Canaries” will be the next episode, and the series’ second-to-last episode.  The final episode is set to air in February, but the exact date hasn’t been announced.  It may not directly follow the week after “Green Arrow and the Canaries,” as it will be a special event, so it may be scheduled accordingly.  The final episode will be entitled “Fadeout.”

Amell has already been cast in a new series, ‘Heels’ which will be shown on Starz.
