We’re just shy of two months away from the release of ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker‘ and some of the people who know the saga best have some advice for us. Anthony Daniels (known for his recurring role as the droid C-3PO) thinks everyone should watch all 8 of the films in order to prepare for it:
“There are only two months to go until ‘Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker’ hits cinemas. The circle is now complete. The saga is almost over and the story just about told.” He pointed out that it would take “an episode a week to get ready.”
I confess the advice is intriguing, and if C-3PO/Anthony Daniels thinks it needs to be done, who are we to refuse?
J.J. Abrams, the director of ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ confirmed that the film is meant to be the apex of the Star Wars saga:
“Endings are the thing that scare me the most. This is about bringing this thing to a close in a way that is emotional and meaningful and also satisfying in terms of actually answering [as many] questions as possible. So if years from now, someone’s watching these movies, all nine of them, they’re watching a story that is as cohesive as possible.”
At an earlier event, Abrams added:
“The movie doesn’t pick up immediately after the last film. Some time has passed. This movie is an adventure the group goes on together. One of the great things about getting to work on the movie is the dynamic between all of the characters. They’re amazing together, and it’s something I’m excited for you all to see.”
