Very few cult favorites achieve the nearly universally-beloved status of the 1999 ‘Star Trek’ homage ‘Galaxy Quest’.  Rumors of a sequel and/or a TV adaptation have swirled for the two decades since its release, but none ever materialized, and with the death of Alan Rickman in 2016, one never will.  But fans can revisit the classic… for one night only.

Fathom Events is presenting ‘Never Surrender: A Galaxy Quest Documentary’ on November 26, one month shy of the original film’s Christmas day opening.  Original cast and crew offer insights into the tumultuous production, marred by “set accidents, crew turnover, and an absolutely baffled studio.”  The doc includes interviews with director Dean Parisot, writer Robert Gordon, and cast members Tim Allen (Jason Nesmith a.k.a. Commander Peter Quincy Taggart), Sigourney Weaver (Gwen DeMarco a.k.a. Lieutenant Tawny Madison), Justin Long (superfan Brandon), Sam Rockwell (Guy Fleegman a.k.a. “Crewman #6” a.k.a. Security Chief “Roc” Ingersol), Tony Shalhoub (Fred Kwan a.k.a. Tech Sergeant Chen), Missi Pyle (Laliari), Rainn Wilson (Lahnk), and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell (Tommy Webber a.k.a. Lieutenant Laredo).
