Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Doesn't Think He'll Play Killer Croc In 'The Suicide Squad'

While James Gunn‘s ‘The Suicide Squad‘ has a few familiar faces from the 2016 film returning, one of them doesn’t appear to be Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (‘Lost’,’Thor: The Dark World’) who played Killer Croc in the movie. As one of the villains turned anti-hero who Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller recruited in the film he helped bring an end to the reign of terror which Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress was about to unleash.

As the first film was disliked by audiences and critics alike, it was surprising to hear that a sequel was being greenlit that fans could get excited for. Of course, the reason that we’re excited is that the director of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ is bringing it to life. The film will see Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney‘s Captain Boomerang, and Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag returning but Killer Croc doesn’t seem to be making a comeback.

According to the actor, it had nothing to do with the poor reaction from the first film either:

“To be quite honest with you, I think I went on to something quite quickly afterward. Particularly with that kind of genre movie, I don’t take the criticism or reactions too seriously. It’s supposed to be just fun.”

That is a great view to have of a film whose re-cuts lost much of what the director claims he initially wanted the story’s flow and tone to be. Of course, Akinnuoye-Agbaje also took it in stride as “I don’t think I need to [do it again] to be honest. I did it. I enjoyed it. It bought me a Bentley, and I will keep moving on.”

I feel if any of us had enough films and television work under our belt to be ahead enough to afford a Bentley without batting an eyelash, we could overlook negative criticism about a single movie we starred in as well.

Were you hoping that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje would be returning for James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’? Do you feel that Killer Croc is a character who could fit into the future of DC’s live-action films? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
