Fans of ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’ were saddened last week to hear of the passing of Aron Eisenberg, the actor who played Nog on the show. His passing was announced by his wife on her Facebook page. Eisenberg had appeared in a documentary called ‘What we Left Behind: Looking Back at Start Trek: Deep Space Nine‘ and spoke about what the show meant to him both personally and in his career. The producers of ‘What We Left Behind’ paid tribute to Eisenberg by releasing an unedited clip of him sharing his feelings about the show.

“We are shocked to hear about the untimely passing of Aron Eisenberg. He was a kind person with an energetic and positive personality. His quick wit would put a smile on anyone’s face, and fill a room with laughter. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help give back to Aron’s family by helping to pay for any funeral expenses they incur.
On average funeral expense costs can range between 7K to 9K USD. For many, loss of income while dealing with a sudden death can leave a spouse financially burdened. Eisenberg was best known for playing Nog, of the Ferengi race, who value the pursuit of profit over anything else. Nog was not fully comfortable with his role in his race’s two-dimensional society of greed. It was an unusual role that required a high level of expertise, which Eisenberg delivered.
