New Castle Rock Trailer

You may not know a “cocka-doodie” thing about Hulu’s ‘Castle Rock’ Season 2, but if you’re searching for answers, here is the newest trailer, and as Annie Wilkes states, “That’s the whole story, from soup to nuts!”

The new season of the Stephen King-inspired anthology introduces Annie Wilkes, the mentally-disturbed nurse from the novel/film ‘Misery’, and from the looks of things, she is indeed bringing misery to the already-tumultuous neighboring towns of Castle Rock and  Jerusalem’s Lot (or as you may know it better, ‘Salem’s Lot’).

Lizzy Caplan heads up the cast of the sophomore season, as Wilkes, a character previously portrayed by Kathy Bates in the 1990 film adaptation.  Joining her is Tim Robbins, who starred in one of the most beloved films to adapt a King work, ‘The Shawshank Redemption’.  This time, however, he’s playing a character much less benevolent, Reginald ‘Pop’ Merrill, the head of the local crime family, who discovers he is dying and must make sure his gang can carry on after he is gone.

Annie and Pop have a tense confrontation in the new trailer, which you can check out below:

Season 1 of ‘Castle Rock’ included references to and elements from King’s “The Body” (a.k.a. ‘Stand By Me’), ‘Carrie’, ‘Christine’, ‘Cujo’, ‘The Dark Half’, ‘The Dark Tower’, ‘The Dead Zone’, ‘Dolores Claiborne’, ‘Firestarter’, ‘Gerald’s Game’, ‘The Green Mile’, “The House on Maple Street,” ‘It’, ‘Needful Things’, ‘Pet Sematary’, “The Reaper’s Image,” “Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption,” ‘The Shining’, “The Sun Dog,” and more.

The Pop Merrill character appeared in “The Sun Dog” and was referenced in ‘Needful Things’, and obviously Annie Wilkes is from ‘Misery’.  But fans surely have a lot more Easter Eggs to look forward to in Season 2.
