Negan 's Inner "King S— Motherf—er" May Come Out In The 10th Season Of 'The Walking Dead'
AMC

Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan may have committed a lot of atrocities, not the least of which was killing Glen and Abraham in his first appearance on ‘The Walking Dead’.  But Morgan’s natural charisma has managed to charm some viewers, despite his ruthlessness.  But some felt that he has been underutilized, being locked in jail for so long, rest assured there is more Negan coming in Season 10.

Showrunner Angela Kang spoke to TV Line, and revealed:

“Negan is out and about.  This has been part of the plan for his character that started with last season. So for fans who were kind of itching for more of him, there will be a lot of Negan fun this year.  Negan is still Negan.  He can’t help but push people’s buttons.”

“I think in the comics, even if he called Rick the King S— Motherf—er, he’s used to being that guy himself.  So to be in jail for years was a big ego blow. He wants to be important. He wants to be valued. So that can take many different forms.”

Years before Morgan’s Negan appeared on TV, the source character made his comic book debut, in much the same way.  Fans were furious over his murder of Glen, but dammit if his potty mouth charm didn’t win over some.  And TV viewers have reacted similarly to Morgan’s take.

Kang declared:

“But that’s the genius of Robert Kirkman [who wrote the source material].  He created this villain who is so much fun, it’s like, ‘Oh my God, am I supposed to like him? This is very confusing.’ That’s where the character lives.

“Part of the joy for me in writing Negan is figuring out, ‘What is he up to? Is it OK that I like him right now when he’s saying this stuff that’s really f—ed up?’ That’s a lot of what we’re doing with the character this year, and it’s really fun.”

Fans don’t have long to wait to see where Negan goes in Season 10.  It kicks off next weekend, on October 6th, 2019 on AMC.
