We’ve got the first trailer for Netflix‘s upcoming streaming release of ‘Raising Dion’ which will feature Michael B. Jordan (‘Black Panther‘,’Creed’) as both a producer and actor in the story!
The logline of the series is a great description and lets us know what the film is about: “A widowed mom sets out to solve the mystery surrounding her young son’s emerging superpowers while keeping his extraordinary gifts under wraps.”
The series will primarily follow Alisha Wainwright who plays the mother Nicole and Ja’Siah Young, who plays her son. Jordan’s role on the show is the father who disappeared mysteriously during a storm.

Parts of the aspects from the show will likely feel familiar due to all of the superhero themes which have popped up in recent years but there are enough original themes in this to make it stand out. Wainwright chimed in on her thoughts on why you should check out ‘Raising Dion’:
“You come across so many superhero stories that usually are from the perspective of the person inflicted with the powers. It was so refreshing to hear the story from the person whose life is so dramatically affected by that: the caregiver of that young person.”
That singular piece really does differentiate what we usually end up seeing.
