Daisy Ridley

Some fans have been thinking that the introduction of Daisy Ridley’s Rey would mean that she would be a cornerstone of future “Star Wars” films, but the actress has confirmed that isn’t the case. While Kathleen Kennedy has shared that some of the stars from the current trilogy which will mark the end of the Skywalker Saga with ‘Star Wars: Rise of Skywalkerwould be seen again, we already knew that it wouldn’t be too soon.

All signs have pointed to the next trilogy being by David Benioff, and D.B. Weiss of ‘Game of Thrones’ fame and their set of films is going to be set even longer ago in a galaxy far, far away. Rumors have placed it during the time of the Old Republic which is well before the time of the prequel trilogy.

As to not being involved, according to the actress:

“I mean, I can say I’m not in the next trilogy. No. I think, ’cause Rian always said…if it’s the Rian one, or it’s the guys that did Game of Thrones. I’m not sure. Whichever one it was, they always said it was going to be a separate story. So I’m not. No.”

It is evident here that the actress doesn’t say she won’t be returning in the future unlike what John Boyega has hin. Most likely, part of Lucasfilm‘s roadmap has the studio revisiting these characters down the line. It’s also not clear if they’ll be appearing in new films or possibly a future live-action Disney+ series.
