Young Justice: Outsiders Part 2

‘Young Justice: Outsiders’ is racing back for the second batch of episodes, rounding out this third season of the beloved animated series.  The first half of the series was released on DC Universe two episodes at a time on Fridays, but the new episodes will begin releasing on Tuesday, July 2nd with new episodes on Tuesdays, not Fridays going forward.

To hype up the arrival of new episodes, DC Universe has unveiled a new trailer.  Oddly, some of the footage shown was from the first half, but whatever.  It seems that Beast-Boy will take a more active role in upcoming episodes, and a speedster is shown.  Presumably, that’s Impulse, although he isn’t in costume.  They wouldn’t just spoil Wally’s return like that, would they?  It also seems that Granny Goodness and Big Barda will pop up.

The teenage Super Heroes of the DC Universe come of age in an animated world of super-powers, Super-Villains and super secrets in YOUNG JUSTICE: OUTSIDERS, the highly anticipated new take on Warner Bros. Animation’s popular YOUNG JUSTICE series.  The team faces its greatest challenge yet as it takes on meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.

‘Young Justice’ originally ran for two seasons on Cartoon Network but was cancelled after Mattel withdrew funding after the ‘YJ’ toyline bombed at retail.  Infuriatingly, the show ended on a cliffhanger.  Perhaps equally infuriating, we’re 13 episodes into the new season and that cliffhanger hasn’t been resolved.

The new season has been more concerned with introducing new characters Geo-Force/Prince Brion, Halo/Gabrielle Daou Violet Harper, and the alien Forager.  That and leading up to sexy time between Black Lightning and Dr. Jace.

But of course, the last new episode ended on another major cliffhanger, setting up a very popular storyline from the comics.  Unfortunately, it’s one we’ve seen adapted a few times before.  Hopefully, the ‘YJ’ team has cooked up a way to give this story a fresh spin.

Here’s hoping we get more action in the second half.  New episodes will be released on Tuesday, July 2nd, and each following Tuesday.

What do you think?  How do feel about ‘Young Justice: Outsiders’ so far, and what would you like to see in Part 2?
