Grammy Award-winning rapper Kid Cudi a.k.a. Scott Mescudi has joined the cast of ‘Bill & Ted Face the Music’.  His role is currently unrevealed.

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winters reprise their roles as Ted “Theodore” Logan and Bill S. Preston Esq from the two cult classic time travel comedies ‘Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ (1989) and ‘Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey’ (1991).  In this new picture, they will be joined by their daughters, Billie Logan (played by Brigette Lundy-Paine) and Thea Preston (Samara Weaving).   Most of the rest of the cast has yet to be announced, but it is known that William Sadler will return as Death.

Dean Parisot (‘Galaxy Quest‘) is directing, with a screenplay by the writers of the original movies, Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon.

In the new film, Bill & Ted discover that their music can save life as we know it and “bring harmony to the universe.”  This leads them to another excellent adventure, reuniting them with “old friends, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends.”

Cudi, under his real name Scott Mescudi, has already acted in numerous projects, including being a regular cast member of HBO’s ‘How to Make it in America’.  He has also appeared (or at least heard) on the TV shows ‘The Cleveland Show’, ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, and ‘Scorpion’, and the movies ‘Need for Speed’, ‘Entourage’, and ‘Drunk Parents’, as well as numerous indie films.  He recently wrapped the ensemble drug drama ‘Dreamland’ which also stars Luke Evans, Armie Hammer, Greg Kinnear, Evangeline Lilly, Gary Oldman, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sam Worthington.

Kudi’s first rap album, ‘ Man on the Moon: The End of Day’ was certified double platinum.  He has gone on to sell millions of albums, both in the rap genre, as well as rock, both solo and with his band WZRD.

Audiences will get to face ‘Bill & Ted Face the Music’ on August 21, 2020.
