With ‘Star Trek 4‘ being shelved indefinitely it is unclear if we’ll see the cast and crew returning for another cinematic outing on the Starship Enterprise in the soft reboot that formed The Kelvin Timeline. However, Zachary Quinto is still interested in reprising his role as Spock if the right opportunity came along.
As to what Quinto feels might be in store for Spock down the line, the actor stated:
“I don’t know what’s happening with that, and I’m trying to figure out what, if anything, will be the future for it. I feel glad that the franchise is having its own life continuing on [with Star Trek: Discovery] and my hope is that we’ll also get to go back and play those roles again. But there’s no telling right now if it’ll happen or not.”
While that doesn’t currently look good for the movies, fans still can boldly go where no man has gone before with ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘, the upcoming ‘Star Trek: Picard‘, multiple animated outings on CBS All Access and the potentially the Quentin Tarantino “Star Trek” film.
A lack of movement on this film has previously been brought up by multiple actors with Chris Pine saying that he would “love to be involved” but is still waiting for a phone call that it is happening. John Cho has always chimed in that he doesn’t “have any news” when it comes to another outing.
