Carrie-Ann Moss as Jeri Hogarth in Jessica Jones

After Netflix disappointed Marvel subscribers by canceling every show on their streaming service, we now only have the final season of ‘Jessica Jones‘ to look forward to. Carrie-Ann Moss will be reprising her role as Jeri Hogarth who has been involved with quite a few of the episodes. When we last left her, the lawyer who is willing to stare down crime lords has met a foe she can’t defeat in her diagnosis of ALS, and that will factor heavily into the character in her final outing.

According to Moss as to where her character’s headspace is at:

“She’s struggling, and she is coming to terms with her isolation and her aloneness. She’s very alone, and she reaches out to Jessica at a very pivotal moment.”

Outside of reaching out to Jones, Hogarth also tries to go another route with dealing with this loneliness by trying to reach out to an ex-lover:

“She’s struggling, and she’s manipulating, and she’s always trying to win. She’s up against her greatest foe, which is the diagnosis of ALS. I think all of it builds towards who we see in the third season and what she’s been through all impacts all of it.

She’s a fighter, though. She’s always trying to find a way to be in control of it, and we definitely see some vulnerable moments with her. But yeah, I think that season two and all that she went through of course impacted who she is in season three for sure.”

Hogarth is a fun character who doesn’t just represent the human side of Netflix’s Marvel shows but also gives us a strong character who does have a heart but will often overlook it for what she believes to be personal gain. We’ve seen this come back as being the wrong decision in multiple instances so it’ll be interesting to see if she grows as a character or falls back into her own pettiness.
