Netflix Releases Posters For Each New Black Mirror Episode

There will only be three new episodes of ‘Black Mirror’ but hopefully that means that they will be fully packed with the suspense and social commentary that this series has been known for.  Netflix has released three posters– on for each episode– which may shed a little more light on what to expect from the new short films.

First, Anthony Mackie is showcased on the poster for “Striking Vipers.”

Here is the description for ‘Striking Vipers’:

“Two estranged college friends reunite in later life, triggering a series of events that could alter their lives forever.”

In addition to Mackie, this episode includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, and Ludi Lin.

The second poster, from “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too,” features Miley Cyrus as a pink-haired rocker fashion doll.  Kind of like ‘Jem’… heck, Miley herself played another pop star with a secret identity on ‘Hannah Montana’ for years.  But something tells me that this ‘Black Mirror’ episode will be a lot darker than the average episode of either ‘Hannah Montana’ or ‘Jem’.

Here is the synopsis for “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too”:

“A lonely teenager yearns to connect with her favorite pop star – whose charmed existence isn’t quite as rosy it appears…”

This episode also stars Angourie Rice and Madison Davenport.

And the final episode, “Smithereens” revolves around a cab driver played by Topher Grace.  Here is the poster:

In “Smithereens”:

“A cab driver with an agenda becomes the center of attention on a day that rapidly spirals out of control.”

This episode also stars Andrew Scott and Damson Idris.

“Black Mirror is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us. The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones.”

The new episodes of ‘Black Mirror’ arrive on Netflix on June 5th, 2019.  Which episode are you most excited about?
