‘American Horror Story’s Naomi Grossman has joined the cast of the in-production low-budget horror flick ‘The Initiation’, directed by Brian McCulley. Hailing from ThunderKnight Entertainment LTD and AEC Studios, ‘The Initiation’ tells of a struggling college professor whose marriage and career are on the rocks when he discovers a coven of witches. Grossman portrays Lillian Know, “the High Priest of the Siren Society of Satan, aka The Sirens.” Jimmy Drain and Lauren C. Mayhew headline the cast, which also includes Monique Candelaria, London Grace, Meggie Maddock, Mel Novak, T.O.N.E-z, Audrey Walters, and Vernon Wells. The picture is now filming in Denver, Colorado.
Not to be confused with Leslie Grossman, who portrayed Meadow Wilton in ‘American Horror Story: Cult’, and Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt in ‘Apocalypse’, Naomi Grossman is best known for playing Pepper “the Pinhead” in ‘Asylum’ and ‘Freak Show’. She also turned up in ‘Apocalypse’, as Samantha Crowe, one of the Satanists that perform a Black Wedding in Murder House.
Naomi Grossman was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for her web series ‘ctrl alt delete’ a workplace comedy set in an abortion clinic. Grossman appears to enjoy working in the world of low-budget horror, as her most recent movie was a vampire comedy called ‘Bite Me’. Either completed or in post-production are ‘The Lurker’, about a group of theater students who vanish one by one, and ‘Sky Sharks’ about the discovery of zombie-fied Nazis who ride around on flying sharks (!!!). Also in the can are the comedy ‘The Ones’ and drama ‘Chasing Lacey’.
It isn’t known if Grossman will be part of the upcoming ninth season of ‘American Horror Story’, which is subtitled ‘1984’ and will pay homage to ’80s slasher flicks. It is set to premiere this fall.
‘The Initiation’ has a release date of September 1, 2019.
