CBS has a slew of new shows on the horizon, and one of them is quite ‘Evil.  The series has a psychologist and priest joining forces to investigate secretive mysteries from the Church that includes hauntings, demonic possessions, and more!

The series stars “Katja Herbers as Kristen Bouchard, Mike Colter as David Acosta, Aasif Mandvi as Ben Shroff, Michael Emerson as Leland Townsend, Brooklyn Shuck as Lynn Bouchard, Skylar Gray as Lila Bouchard, Maddy Crocco as Lexis Bouchard, and Dalya Knapp as Laura Bouchard.” Behind the camera, we’ll see Robert King directing the pilot and Michelle King, Robert King, and Liz Glotzer set as the show’s executive producers.

The official synopsis for ‘Evil’ is below:

The new drama focuses on a skeptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a carpenter as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions, and hauntings. Their job is to assess if there’s a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.

The initial pitch makes this almost sound like a take on ‘The X-Files’ with two partners who have opposite views investigating the paranormal. While that isn’t exactly what the trailer is giving us, it isn’t hard to miss the similarities.
