Dark Horse Entertainment Inks First Look Deal With Netflix

So far we’ve seen Netflix successfully collaborate on both ‘Umbrella Academy‘ and Jonas Åkerlund’s feature film ‘Polar,’ and we now know these have been viewed as a success. The reasoning behind that is that Netflix and Dark Horse Entertainment have just inked a first look deal.

To say that this is exciting news is a massive understatement!

Dark Horse Entertainment’s President and Founder Mike Richardson says:

“We are very excited about this new arrangement with the talented people at Netflix. We have strong creative relationships as well as a large content library to work with and, as we have seen with our recent projects, Netflix is the perfect partner to bring our stories to fans around the world.”

As to how this deal is going forward, Keith Goldberg, Senior Vice President of Dark Horse Entertainment has shared that:

“With The Umbrella Academy and Polar, Netflix has pushed our content out into the world and allowed it to spread in a way that we’ve never experienced before, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring a whole new slate of movies and shows to their world-wide audience.”

Vice President of Original Content for Netflix Cindy Holland added:

“Following the success of The Umbrella Academy, we’re excited to extend our relationship with Dark Horse Comics. The Netflix teams are already working in deep collaboration with Dark Horse to identify projects beyond the world of traditional superheroes — branching into horror, fantasy, and family entertainment — that we think our members will love.”

While it is easy to just factor in the shows which Netflix has crafted, it should also be noted that Dark Horse is bringing out some Netflix stories to print too such as their ‘Stranger Things‘ collaboration.
