So you’re wondering what the future could have in store for Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ has come to an end and it is hard to avoid spoilers if you’ve somehow not seen it yet when everyone is talking about it, including the directors! They’ve long been claiming that they aren’t looking towards the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and have put all their time into ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ However, one area which they are commenting on is when it comes to Tony Stark.

Co-director Joe Russo was asked if there is anything in store for Iron Man in the future. As most of us know, Tony Stark’s life came to an end when stopping Thanos so it should surprise no one when Russo stated that:
Tony’s dead, you know? That’s it for Robert. He’s done.
This statement is sure to dash the hopes of anyone who was hoping that an AI Tony Stark or flashbacks might be coming in future films. It could be easy to hope that he might return as artificial intelligence in an Iron Man styled armor that someone else could someday wear as was done for Riri Williams as Ironheart.
