If you aren’t caught up on HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones‘ you may want to turn back now as there are major spoilers from “The Long Night” here and also how it leads into the introduction of “The Last of the Starks.” If you’re caught up there is likely a scene which included Daenerys that you’re wondering about and we’re not even talking about how she managed to find a Starbucks in Winterfell. Let’s be honest, they’ve got locations everywhere.
As to the scene in question, it is right at the episode’s introduction. Viewers know that Iain Glen.’s Ser Jorah was killed saving the Queen of Dragons in the previous episode. We ended up seeing the combined military who fell from the North and the army which Daenerys brought with her die in droves when facing the Night King, and the bodies of those who were lost were being burned.
Before that happens, Daenerys is shown whispering something over Ser Jorah. The script has something along the lines of “Daenerys whispers something to him that he’ll never hear, and we’ll never know…” included in it but that doesn’t mean Emilia Clarke was going to not lean into her character when delivering the line which we’ll never hear.
According to Glen “It’s something entirely sincere and true to the moment and something that I’ll never forget.” He would also go on to say that “I’ll always cherish it because it’s something no one will ever know but the two of us. And that’s a memory to hold onto.” We’re all pretty sure Glen is going to have quite a few of those working on one of the most massive entertainment productions of our time.
Do you feel that Emilia Clarke said something to Glen in as herself or as Daenerys? Are you glad that Ser Jorah was able to rise above his past and have an honorable death on the series protecting the woman and ideals he had committed his life to? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
