Iain Glen Ser Jorah Game Of Thrones

Winter is coming and so is the final season of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones,’ only we may now know the fate of one character a bit early. In a recent interview, it looks like Iain Glen (‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’,’Kick-Ass 2′) may have spoiled the fate of his character Ser Jorah Mormont for fans everywhere.

In preparing for his role in the upcoming episodes, Glen shared:

“[The scripts] read like the six best scripts. The final scripts are really special. We all sat down for the read-through of six feature-length episodes. They took longer to film, cost more, and are more surprising.”

Glen also revealed that we’ll be seeing “monumental set pieces” and that much of the cast will be “together for lots of it,” which is a nice change of pace from having them separated for most of the earlier seasons.

Now, the last tidbit is, of course, the potential spoiler warning. There are two ways it can be taken, but this is where you should hit the back button if you don’t want anything potentially ruined.

If you’re still with me and love Iain Glen’s take on Ser Jorah Mormont, you can’t help but wonder if George R.R. Martin wrote him out of the books by this point. It’s possible, but the one thing you should take solace in is that the actor states, “I am one of the lucky ones who made it through!” Glen doesn’t clarify if this means he made it through the series alive through to the last episode or just through to the final season. However, it is easy to imagine this means we’ll see him living through the finale.

Do you think Ian Glen will survive until the end of ‘Game of Thrones’? If he doesn’t fall in battle, will this be a bittersweet moment because the love of his life Daenerys Targaryen ends up dead? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
