An Anonymous Person Wants To Hold A Real Life Battle Royale/Hunger Games On A Private Island

Don’t tell Prince Harry, but an anonymous gazillionaire wants to hold a real-life Battle Royale on a private island, where 100 people will fight… to the death!  Oh, my bad.  It won’t be to the death.  Participants will be armed with non-lethal airsoft guns and touch-sensitive armor.  Hush Hush, “the world’s leading luxury shopping marketplace” has received a request from said gazillionaire for a game designer to craft this event.

The site has listed this “want ad”:

We’re looking for someone who can help design the arena for a 100-person battle royale inspired event. With a £1,500 day rate and an expected six-week project duration, we’re expecting the competition to be fierce for the £45,000 contract!

That’s what the designer will get paid.  The “last man standing” will pocket £100,000.  That’s ˜$130,000 in American dollars, which really isn’t worth anybody’s time.  I mean, we don’t have a game show called “Who Wants To Be A Thousand-aire.”  Plus, participants have to camp… outdoors… for three days.  Hard pass.  (Food, camping gear and “all the necessary equipment” will be provided, at any rate.)  The tournament will last for three days, with contestants actively competing for 12 hours per day.

Hush Hush founder, Aaron Harpin, issued the following statement:

“Battle royale games have become incredibly popular over the last few years ago and our customer is a huge fan who wants to make the game a reality in the safest way possible. If the championship is a success this year, it’s something he wants to make an annual event moving forward, which is very exciting!

“If you’re a fan of last-person-standing movies and games, it’ll be a great opportunity to have a once in a lifetime experience and earn a significant amount of money. However, to get there, our concierge team needs some help to make it a reality. The first thing we need is a talented gamemaker to help us make the event as realistic as possible.”

‘Fortnite: Battle Royale’ is a phenomenon, to the point that Prince Harry recently declared that it should be banned.  But it’s easy to blame violent video games for leading someone to wanting to recreate this in real life, with real people.

But before ‘Fortnite’, there was ‘The Hunger Games’, and before that, there was the manga ‘Battle Royale’.  So really, if anything is to blame for this gladiatorial development, it’s BOOKS.

But if you are a game designer/event planner, feel free to apply for this position at Hush Hush’s website.  If you get it, make sure to film the whole thing, because if you thought those Fyre Festival documentaries were entertaining, I have a feeling this will leave those in the dust!

And, may the odds be ever in your favor!
