Joe and Anthony Russo have finished editing ‘Avengers: Endgame’, meaning it is almost ready for fans’ eager eyes.  The VFX, sound editing, music, and other teams will probably be cranking away until about a week before the movie has to be screened for critics, but at least the story is essentially strung together exactly as fans will experience it.  The brothers celebrated the end of the editing process with a sundae bar for themselves and their crew, which they shared on Twitter, along with the news that ‘Endgame’ is now “locked.”

When they last spoke about the film’s length, it had clocked in at three hours.  Keep in mind, ‘Infinity War’ was two hours and forty minutes long, so what’s another twenty minutes plus credits?  Urinate accordingly.

However, the Russos didn’t indicate the film’s length in their tweet.  In fact, there really isn’t any real news.  It’s possible that they managed to shave a little bit off ‘Endgame’s run time.  But looking back at ‘Infinity War’, even at its extended length, it was jam-packed.  There really was no fat to be trimmed.  Considering that ‘Endgame’ has a LOT to wrap up after the events of ‘Infinity War’, it probably needs a little more room to unspool.

If you caught ‘Captain Marvel’ this weekend, you know that one of fandom’s big questions has already been answered, at least in part.  So that will save a few minutes, right there.

Marvel is always incredibly secretive, but never more so than with ‘Endgame’.  While some movie trailers can be released as far as a year in advance, Marvel didn’t offer a glimpse at ‘Endgame’ until December.  And after that, they have only released one additional clip, during the Super Bowl.

And in this case, many fans are just peachy with that.

What do you think?  Can you sit through three hours of Avenging?
