Us

One of the creepiest movies of the year, ‘Us’, is sneaking closer to release and a new trailer has been released for the Korean market.  The film offers a few new clips that may give a better idea of just what this film is about.  There’s a glimpse of a room full of rabbits.  There’s a ballet dancer.  Yep, all clear now.

Okay, while vague dream-like images may not clear things up, there is a little bit of a longer look at the doppelganger family.  And Lupita Nyong’o‘s character, Adelaide Wilson, seems to know who they are.  Keep in mind, in the film Adelaide and her family visit the beach house that she spent her childhood in.  It’s possible that she has encountered this phenomenon before and may have just blocked it out.

Check out the new clip:

The website PowerofPositivity.com writes about a certain self-help concept which may have partially inspired this story:

“The underlying intention of our angels bringing our awareness to 11:11 is to make us more conscious of ourselves, and remind us that we always have guidance and a greater wisdom to rely on anytime we feel stuck, scared, or frustrated.  Seeing repeating numbers, especially 11:11, means you should focus on keeping your thoughts positive, because your desires will manifest instantly into form.”

The “11:11” idea was utilized in last year’s horror film ‘Susperia’.  Nyong’o’s Adelaide does mention lining up — the trailer begins with a shot of the Wilsons’ dumb stick figure family sticker on their vehicle’s rear windshield, then they are shown walking single file on the beach.  She also mentions coincidences and how they have increased since the family arrived at their vacation home.

Or maybe we’ll just have to wait until the film opens to truly understand what all this means.

Are you ready to kick off the summer with this trip to the beach?

Written and directed by Jordan Peele, ‘Us’ stars Lupita Nyong’o, Elisabeth Moss, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Tim Heidecker, Cali Sheldon, Noelle Sheldon, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and opens on March 22, 2019.
