This Is 'Us': A Poster Has Been Released For Jordan Peele's Upcoming 'Get Out' Follow-Up

This movie has been kept strictly under wraps, but a possible plot synopsis has surfaced:

A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o from Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and 12 Years a Slave) and a father (Winston Duke from Black Panther) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elizabeth Moss from TV series The Handmaid’s Tale). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.

This doesn’t reveal much and there have been a number of home invasion-themed horror movies in the past several years.  But of course, considering that this is stemmed from the mind of Peele, there will surely be some unexpected twists.  (“You know I can’t give you the keys, right babe?”)

As the film inches closer to its March release date, Universal has unveiled a new poster.  It is also very vague but those scissors look like they could potentially do some damage:

In addition to Duke, Moss and Nyong’o, the cast of ‘Us’ includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Anna Diop, Kara Hayward, Tim Heidecker, Cali Sheldon, Noelle Sheldon, and Shahadi Wright Joseph.

Just for the heck of it, here is the previously released poster, which is just as uninformative as the new red one:

Peele won an Academy Award for his screenplay for ‘Get Out’ and he also wrote the script for ‘Us’ himself.  Could he be going for Oscar #2?  ‘Get out was also one of the few “horror” movies to ever get nominated for Best Picture.  Peele was nominated for Best Director, while Daniel Kaluuya was up for Best Actor.

Jordan Peele’s ‘Us’ will arrive in theaters on March 15, 2019.
