Peter Jackson Amazon Lord Of The Rings

We’ve been hearing conflicting reports for quite some time if Peter Jackson or any of his work on the ‘Lord of the Rings‘ movies could filter into the upcoming ongoing series from Amazon Studios. At this time, Jackson isn’t involved but Amazon Studios have now made it clear that they would welcome his input.

The latest update comes directly from the Head of Amazon Studios Television, Jennifer Salke. She was asked if Peter Jackson was at all involved in their take on J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic work:

“We don’t have any news on Peter Jackson. There hasn’t been any negativity around it. We just don’t have any news on that yet and what his involvement may be.”

Albert Cheng who is the co-head of TV for Amazon Studios went on to say that “He is aware of what’s happening.”

With over a billion dollars being used to bring this series to life for the streaming service it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they might want Jackson involved with how popular his vision of the work still is. Salke added in that “JD Payne, and Patrick McKay and their team are making great progress. We’ve established the social handles for the show, and there will be more news coming shortly.”

Fans of Middle-earth are eager to hear what Amazon has in mind. We’re still not sure if this will be a complete retelling of all the stories so far with the expanded material they now have available or something else entirely.
