legion

With all the praise for FX and Marvel’s collaboration on ‘Legion,’ fans are very curious to know whether they are going to be teaming up again in the future for any projects, especially since the recent slew of Netflix cancellations have left so many fan-favorite series like ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Luke Cage’ without a network. Cinemablend recently spoke to  FX CEO John Landgraf, who shared some insight into their working relationship with Marvel:

“I find graphic novel adaptations really challenging, but they’re great. It’s really been fun working on Legion. We’ve been working on Y: The Last Man for a long time, and I’m really thrilled that we’re finally able to greenlight the series. And yeah, we keep talking to Marvel about doing more with them. They obviously have a lot of things they’ve done that have nothing to do with us. But I’d love to find more stuff to do with them.”

While on the subject of graphic novel adaptations, Landgraf also shared his excitement for an upcoming series coming out on a different network:

“There are still a lot of great, really innovative, original shows to be made based on graphic novels, and I hope we get to make some of them. I’m looking forward to Watchmen, for example. I’m a big Damon Lindelof fan, and I’m just really curious to see what he does with that.”

It has been pointed out that ‘Watchmen‘ could have also worked on FX since they allowed more vulgarity and violence than other networks, which is also the reason why they may be the perfect fit for the street level Marvel series from Netflix. The only issue is that FX may not be interested in simply keeping these series going, they seem to be more interested in starting their own shows so they have some semblance of creative say in the series, and ‘Luke Cage,’ ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Iron Fist’ all have established looks and feels (not to mention casts) that FX may not want to simply pick up and keep going. But who knows? It could still happen as part of a deal to get other new Marvel shows off the ground on the network.

Would you be interested to see the cancelled Netflix shows on FX? Do you think they would still work on that network? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!
