Danielle Radcliffe Harry Potter Marauders

Even with the final ‘Harry Potter’ book having come out close to 12 years ago, and the final movie having come out nearly 8 years ago, fans are still clamoring for more ‘Harry Potter,’ as evidenced by the expanded universe that is growing with plays like ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child‘ and movies spin-offs like the ‘Fantastic Beasts‘ series. Still, more ideas are out there, and star Daniel Radcliffe has one idea that fans would surely be excited to see were it to ever happen. While making an appearance at the Television Critics Association recently, Radcliffe spoke to TV Guide about the possibility of more entries in the ‘Harry Potter’ world, and the actor shared his opinion by saying:

“I feel like there are other stories from that world that you could absolutely turn into a TV series, 100 percent.”

He followed that up with the idea of a TV series centered around the adventures of the Marauders (James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew), saying:

“A series with the older generation, that could be very cool.”

A series centered around the Marauders would be intriguing as it would set the action back at Hogwarts and still have direct ties to Harry Potter himself and feel more like a direct prequel to the original series than ‘Fantastic Beasts’ which does feel like a bit of a stretch. Plus, I have always liked the possibility of a TV series set within this world because I feel it would not feel as rushed as a movie, and would really let the characters and the world open up.

Radcliffe also spoke on the all too inevitable possibility of the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise being rebooted sometime in the future, and how he would feel seeing another actor take on the character. Not that surprisingly, he seemed open to the idea, stating:

“I definitely think there will be another version of it within my lifetime. It will be interesting to see. At the moment those films have sort of a sacred varnish on them, but that will be worn away at some point… I’m just intrigued to see when that happens.”

What are your thoughts on a Marauders TV series? Would you tune in to watch? Or do you think we are being oversaturated with ‘Harry Potter’ content already? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!
