Chris Pine is somehow back as Steve Trevor in ‘Wonder Woman 1984‘ and that has fans wondering if he could return in the untitled ‘Wonder Woman 3‘ when it is eventually released. While some moviegoers might be hopeful, Pine believes that his time in the franchise is done. With Wonder Woman pining for the love of her life from the World War 1 photo that was shown in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ This would imply that Trevor had long passed and while we had assumed that occurred at the end of ‘Wonder Woman’ now it looks to be from ‘Wonder Woman 1984.’
While not explicitly stated, this possible hints that he may once again be losing his life in the upcoming film as according to Pine:
“I think Steve’s done. I think Steve’s done his bit. I wish them all the luck in the world.”
We know that he will likely have died before the events of ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ unless it is Diana’s only picture of Steve and the two had since parted ways. Either way, director Patty Jenkins has shared that she has “a lot of thoughts” on where to take the next movie. She was also asked if Pine could return at the same event and stated that, “We”ll see. Chris and I will be working together plenty more, one way or the other.”
It isn’t clear if this will be in a third ‘Wonder Woman’ outing or something else entirely.
Are you looking forward to seeing Chris Pine return as Steve Trevor in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’? Do you feel that he’ll also appear in the third film for the franchise? Will Trevor have really died or will the importance of the picture come up in another way? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
