Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Leave it to Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ to find a way that we could include Agent Coulson in the series even after he dies. The first trailer is out and shows that all of the team is dealing with the loss of their friend and mentor, but that doesn’t mean he is out for the count. In fact, we see that there are still two ways that Gregg Clark will be showing up in the series.

For the show which started off making us all ask how Coulson survived after ‘The Avengers’ the fact that he can still appear shouldn’t really be that big of a stretch for fans.

You can check out the trailer right here:

So, not only is Clark showing up as a hologram to help guide Mac as the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D. but at the very end of the episode, a very life-like version of Phil is seen walking around. Only, he doesn’t have any recollection of being part of S.H.I.E.L.D. and doesn’t appear to be the heroic man fans have come to love seeing lead the covert agency.

The trailer starts by stating that “Agent Coulson Is Dead” and this will likely prove to be true, and there are a ton of theories that can explain away that ending. From either this Phil or the one that died to be a Skrull, a clone, an LMD, from another dimension, a twin, there is any number of theories.

Outside of that, the trailer also reminds us that the team needs to rescue Fitz from space and in doing so it seems that there will be new powered people to contest with. It isn’t clear if they are aliens, Inhumans, or have powers from some other method but I’m sure it’ll be explained to audiences soon enough.
