We still don’t know if Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson will somehow survive in the upcoming season of Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ but we’ve been made aware of one amazing star who is set to join the cast! Anthony Michael Hall (‘War Machine,’ ‘The Dark Knight’) will officially be joining Marvel’s television universe in an undisclosed role. It looks as if it might be just for a cameo, but with Hall’s involvement, you can’t expect that his character won’t end up being important to the story.

The actor has been seen in a ton of work over the years though genre fans will likely best remember him on shows such as ‘The Dead Zone’ and ‘Warehouse 13‘ or his iconic ’80s films such as ‘Sixteen Candles’, ‘Vacation’, ‘The Breakfast Club’, and ‘Weird Science.’

In the report, it was also announced that we’ll see a few returning faces as well with Briana Venskus back as Agent Piper and Joel Stoffer as Enoch.

With ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ down to 13-episodes for the upcoming season instead of the usual 22 there will be a lot of ground to cover for the series. Some of the high points to look forward to are:

  • The fate of Agent Coulson
  • The team rescuing Fitz from space and getting him up to speed on what he missed
  • The long term effect of Quake taking the Centipede Serum
  • The travelling Deke now being around full time
  • The fallout of ‘Avengers: Endgame’
  • The potential inclusion of Skrulls after they’re introduced in ‘Captain Marvel’

There are numerous other plot points which have been touched on in recent seasons and plenty of characters such as Ghost Rider or Mockingbird who have been introduced that we could also see have appearances.
