She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power

For the Honor of Grayskull!  Netflix has not only announced that ‘She-Ra and the Princesses of Power’ is returning for a second season, but when to expect it– April 26!  This news shouldn’t come as much of a shock, as certain plot elements, like Bow’s two dads, were previously revealed and yet those characters did not appear in Season One, so it looks as though Netflix had already ordered at least two installments to start with.

‘She-Ra and the Princesses of Power’ premiered in November and instantly became one of the best reviewed animated shows of the year, thanks to its sophisticated, emotional storylines, and an all-inclusive cast.  The series was developed by comic book writer/artist Noelle Stevenson, with ‘Steven Universe”s Chuck Austen.

Stevenson announced the renewal on Twitter:

Meanwhile, the ‘She-Ra and the Princesses of Power’ Twitter released a short highlight video in honor of the new episodes:

The story centers on Adora, a young warrior raised by The Evil Horde to become a lethal soldier.  But on her first mission, she falls in with rebels Bow and Glimmer, who reveal to her that her that her benefactors are really ruthless conquerors out to enslave the planet Etheria.  Adora comes across a mystic sword that transforms her into the towering super being She-Ra, allowing her to change sides and defend Etheria from her one-time family.

‘She-Ra and the Princesses of Power’ updates the 1980s Filmation cartoon ‘She-Ra: Princess of Power’ which was based on the popular Mattel toy line, which was a spin-off of ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’.  He-Man, She-Ra’s brother, is completely omitted from the new show, allowing Adora/She-Ra to stand on her own.

Are you ready for a return trip to Etheria?
