mainLOOK OUT! It’s coming right for you! It’s with an all new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you!  This week we have a little something for everyone! We’ve got a ton of new stuff for Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Civil War‘, plus we’ve got a ton of products from some of your favorite intergalactic adventures like ‘Star Wars’, ‘Star Trek’, ‘ALIEN’ and more! So what are you waiting for? Here’s the Toy News for the week of January 26th, 2016!

Legends Go To War

The team at Hasbro have given us our first look at their new 6″ scale Marvel Legends figures based on this summer’s upcoming blockbuster “Captain America: Civil War’! The only figures shown so far are Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Panther. Iron Man and Black Panther are all new sculpts (and look phenomenal!), while Captain America himself is a repaint of his previously released ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ sculpt.

Many seem to be holding out hope for more figures in this line based on the film like Falcon, Vision, and Scarlet Witch considering we haven’t seen 6” scale figures of them in movie style yet; but last years ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ only got three movie style figures at retail (four if you include the later released Ultron Build-A-Figure, who came packed in with the ‘Antman’ wave). Hopefully we will see some of these other characters released as store exclusives eventually, lilke with last years Amazon Exclusive ‘Avengers’ set that filled in some missing team members.

Last year, Mezco blew us away with their new One:12 Collective line of 6″ scale figures that featured all of the detail, articulation, and customization options of a standard 1:6 scale figure. We’ve seen great figures like ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ Batman, Judge Dredd, and ‘Star Trek’s Mr. Spock, and now their little family of figures is growing again! Mezo has recently announced the latest figure in their One:12 Collective line, and to everyone’s surprise we’re getting another ‘Star Trek’ figure already! This time around it’s the incomparable Sulu in all of his beautiful One:12 Collective glory! Check out the full release from Mezco below-

From the original Star Trek series and the bridge of USS Enterprise NCC-1701 comes Chief Helmsman, Hikaru Sulu, one of the iconic series’ most celebrated crew members. Sulu was originally the department head of Astrosciences; he was also an accomplished botanist, fencer, noted expert on projectile weapons, and pilot of “antique” aircraft. He assumed command of the ship on at least four occasions, repeatedly proving himself a skilled and valuable member of the Enterprise crew. Hikaru Sulu went on to become Captain of his own vessel and was honored with a holographic portrait in Starfleet Headquarters.
Digitally modeled to craft an exceptional actor likeness and assembled on a One:12 Collective body with over 28 points of articulation, numerous accessories as well as interchangeable parts. This figure features a series accurate outfit to create an amazing collectable.

The One:12 Collective Hikaru Sulu features:
-Real fabric uniform with accurate trim and insignia
– Incredible sculpted details capturing the likeness of this groundbreaking character
– Leather-look screen matched boots
Included with this figure:
– Regular head
– Alternate smiling head
– Fists (L & R)
– Posing hands (L & R)
– Phaser holding hand (R)
– Communicator/Tricorder holding hand (L)
– Sword holding hand (R)
– Communicator with flip up panel
– Tricorder with opening top section
– Phaser
– Fencing sword
– Away Team belt with holster for communicator and phaser
– Display base with posing post

Each figure is packaged in a deluxe, fifth panel window box with translucent acetate slipcover. Designed for collector convenience, the packaging allows for both maximum protection as well as ease of removal for display.

The ‘Rebels’ Get A Princess

While many of us may still be wondering where Rey is in all of the marketing for the latest ‘Star Wars’ film, Hasbro has pleasantly surprised us with the reveal of a different strong female character joining the ranks of upcoming ‘Star Wars’ toys; Princess Leia Organa! What’s that? Oh, of course we know we’ve got plenty of Leia figures already over the years, but this time it’s something a little bit special! This all new Leia figure is based on her appearance in the hit ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ animated series. The figure, which made it’s debut in USA Today, showcases Leia a bit younger than we’re used to seeing her; as the ‘Rebels’ television series is set three years before the events of ‘Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope’. The new ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ Princess Leia figure is set to hit stores this fall!
