Jon Bernthal Netflix The Punisher

Netflix hasn’t officially canceled ‘Jessica Jones’ or ‘The Punisher‘ quite yet but we all know it is just a matter of time. Jon Bernthal, the actor who plays Frank Castle understands this is likely the outcome. He isn’t thrilled with the idea but knows he probably can’t fight the inevitable.

According to Bernthal:

“I know the reality of the situation, and I’m at peace with it. I really only worry about the things I can control. When I’m playing the character, and I’m doing the job, and it’s right there in front of me, I do whatever I can to make it as good as I can. But in this business there’s so much we can’t control. Whatever is happening with these shows, these decisions are being made in rooms I’m not invited into, and I’m OK with that.”

This is rather understanding of the actor, though most of the Marvel TV show actors have shared similar sentiments. How much of this is just how the industry works and how much of this is not trying to bite the hand that feeds you is debatable.

There is always the chance that we could see Netflix not decide to cancel the show but I wouldn’t hold my breath on it. Many fans are still holding out hope that Walt Disney Studios will cut some kind of a deal with Netflix to get the rights to these shows not to have to keep them off the air for two years but only time will tell how that plays out.

Do you think there is any chance that Netflix will let Disney and Marvel continue these shows? Will we ever see Jon Bernthal suit up as The Punisher again? What plot points from the second season would you love to see extended into the third? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
