ash vs evil dead

After decades of dormancy, the ‘Evil Dead’ franchise came roaring back in 2015 with the premiere of ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’. Sure, there had been a surprisingly good remake of the original film a few years earlier, but that was more of an interesting one-off than a proper continuation. ‘Ash vs Evil Dead‘, on the other hand, essentially took the place of the long-awaited ‘Evil Dead 4′. While it took the form of a TV series instead of a feature film, the fact that it airs on Starz ensures that it can maintain the character (and, just as importantly, the gore) made the films horror classics.

Over the last two years, the series has arrived in October, becoming something of a Halloween tradition. That tradition was broken this year, as the series’ return has been delayed until February 2018. Fortunately for horror fans, Starz wasn’t about to let Halloween go by without at least giving us a taste of the new season. To that end, the network released a trailer earlier today, which is available here:

The new season’s official synopsis reads as follows:

The third season finds Ash, having gone from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero, discovering that he has a long lost daughter who’s been entrusted to his care. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet. But evil will learn to never get in between a papa bear and his cub.

‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ stars Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Arielle Carver-O’Neill, and Lindsay Farris. The series will make its return on Starz on February 25, 2018.
