Ryan Reynolds has shared when we can take home the PG-13 release of ‘Deadpool 2’ titled ‘Once Upon a Deadpool‘ home and he did so in a perfect way. The 4K, Blu-ray, DVD, and digital release date for the film is set for January 15th, 2019 so we won’t have to wait that long to be able to check out this hilarious new cut of the movie.
If you just can’t get enough of the Merc With the Mouth or have someone you don’t want fully exposed to the R-Rated cut of the film, this should be great news! The new framing feature and a few changes do make this not only a different experience with over 20-minutes of extra footage but one which was complementary to the original release.

I’m still not entirely convinced that this PG-13 cut was to try to appease Disney Studios as the future owner of Fox’s Marvel properties and show that they can fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in some way or another without being confined to a separate world. As the “X-Men” franchise will most likely be rebooted into the MCU and ‘Deadpool’ still printing money, it feels unlikely that Disney would just want to cancel Ryan Reynolds’ take on the character. However, if they can tone him down a bit for wider audiences, it could very well work to have him find a way to fit into Marvel Studios’ overall plan.
