Season One of Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ introduced us to a group of teenagers who learn their parents are supervillains and spent the entirety of the season trying to figure out how to deal with their parents and their own newfound superpowers. So, not much actual running.
The season did not shy away from romantic plot lines and teenage drama, but the group was never distracted from their main mission. The adults also had their fair share of things to deal with as they tried desperately to keep their nefarious plans under wraps.
The end of Season One saw the teens and parents coming clean and putting it all out there. As you can imagine, it did not go well, and the teens, like the name title suggests, ran away. A four-minute clip from the Season Two premiere episode, ‘Gimmie Shelter,’ has been released. The footage has the parents facing a media circus following the news of the missing teens and the younger group is shown confronting a thief.
Season two of ‘Runaways’ will introduce a new character, Topher. The century-old vampire was featured in the original comics. It was revealed that newcomer Jan Luis Castellanos would be taking on the role. Reacting to the news, Castellanos said:
“I’m super grateful to be joining the Marvel/Hulu ‘Runaways’ family. It has been a dream come true. Topher is a tough and complicated kid, and it was very exciting to bring him to life.”
