Before anyone asks how Groot can still be around after famously disappearing in The Snap during ‘Avengers: Infinity War,‘ we should also note that Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is getting his own show and Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes will be part of a ‘Winter Soldier and The Falcon’ series. Oh, and don’t forget that both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany or expected to appear in a ‘Scarlet Witch and The Vision‘ series.
It is feasible that all of these shows could happen before the events of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and the characters won’t miraculously be brought back from the dead in ‘Avengers 4’ but let’s be honest, no one is buying that.
This rumor came from a source claiming the series was pitched to Kevin Feige, but not much else has moved on it.
With ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ in limbo and likely not out for a few years due to the firing of James Gunn, this would be a great way to bring us some of the fan-favorites from the franchise to tide us over. Not only are these two some of the most popular Guardians but it is a story which could easily take place at any point in the MCU timeline. We know that they were working together prior to the first Guardians film and are family when Groot was taken from this world by Thanos.
It should also be noted that while Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel signed a letter in support for James Gunn, neither actor said that they’d be willing to leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe over his firing.
Would you be thrilled to see a ‘Rocket and Groot’ series? Do you think it would be better to take place prior to the events of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1’ or after ‘Avengers 4’? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
