Loki Avengers: Infinity War Tom Hiddleston

We’ve seen Loki die three times so far so it is hard to imagine by many fans that he actually sacrificed himself in ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ Apparently, Tom Hiddleston has been getting that question a lot these days and has had to start weighing in on it. He, of course, does so in a manner that doesn’t clearly state if his character did or didn’t die.

As to why it came up? According to the actor:

“Listen… I’ve heard some amazing theories about this. I was in a park in London a couple of weeks ago, and some guys came and said hi, and they asked me the same question. They said, ‘Hey, listen, we need an answer to this question. All the other times Loki’s died’ — there’s been a few — ‘he stabs with his right hand. And now he’s stabbing with his left hand.’ I was like, ‘That’s incredible attention to detail.’

Elizabeth Olsen was on hand and asked Hiddleston if he had been aware of that detail previously where he noted that he hadn’t been and followed that up with, “Your guess is as good as mine.”

As Hiddleston’s scenes are likely entirely shot at this point, I’m pretty sure his guess would be a bit more accurate than ours. That being said, if you watch the shot again the only way he could keep the blade hidden from the Children of Thanos and the Mad Titan himself would have been to have it form in his left hand.

On the flip side, Loki did enter the scene from off-screen and could once again indicate that we’ve been given a duplicate by the God of Mischief first as an attempt on Thanos and when that failed, as a way to save his own skin. It should be noted that Thanos isn’t in full possession of the Infinity Gauntlet at this moment and could still potentially be fooled by the trickster God.

Previously Hiddleston did note that “When I came to shoot the scene in Infinity War, I think it’s very powerful he calls himself an Odinson, and that closes the whole journey of Loki and what he can do” and that “[Loki’s death] set the stakes up emotionally. It takes the stakes up dramatically. You know that Thanos is someone who’s more dangerous than anyone we’ve seen before.”

While we know that Loki will return in ‘Avengers 4‘ it appears to happen in one of the scenes which are either a flashback or where our heroes are taking a journey into the past. It has also been stated that the actor will return for a ‘Loki’ television series on Disney’s new streaming channel though it wasn’t clear if this would take place before or after the events of ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’

Do you think that Loki actually died in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’? If so, will he return to the land of the living in ‘Avengers 4’? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
