Avengers: Infinity War Loki

We all saw the fate of Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki in ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ but at one point in the script, it appears that the actor had survived his ordeal with Thanos. Fans cringed when The Mad Titan choked the life out of Loki, but part of us were all hoping that somehow Thor’s brother had once again faked his own death in order to return in ‘Avengers 4.’ We know that through either time travel or an imagined past that the actor will be back, but it still sounds like he is dead at this time. With a stand-alone ‘Loki’ series coming to Disney+ it seems that we’ll see the God of Lies return once more but it isn’t clear if he’ll be returning from the dead, never died, or if all of the deaths from ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ will be undone.

To prevent leaks, the Russo Brothers wrote a fake version of the script which had quite a few alternate scenes including Loki surviving the initial encounter. The details came from executive producer Trinh Tran who had shared that very few people knew Loki was going to die until the scene was shot. According to Trinh:

“We created a version of the script where Loki would get away in an escape pod at the beginning of the movie. When we started shooting that particular sequence, we had crew members who were thoroughly confused. We had to let them know that those were fake versions of the script that they read.”

With Loki slated to return, it isn’t clear if this fake script will prove true and we’ll still see the Trickster God walking among Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and trying to undo the damage in the first film or if he’ll be brought back in another way.

Do you think that The Russo Brothers went overkill with distributing a fake script for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ to the cast and crew? Is it a bit ridiculous that it has come to this level of paranoia on movie sets to keep spoilers from popping up too early? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
