Toy Story 4

Many wonder why there is another ‘Toy Story’ coming out, especially after the original saga was so beautifully wrapped up in ‘Toy Story 3’, but ‘Toy Story 4’ director Josh Cooley assures, “Just like in life, every ending is a new beginning. Woody now being in a new room, with new toys, and a new kid was something we have never seen before. The questions of what that would be like became the beginning of an entertaining story worth exploring.”

It seems as though there’s a large world out there and Woody and the gang will explore it, at least according to this synopsis:

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy. Directed by Josh Cooley (Riley’s First Date?) and produced by Jonas Rivera (Inside Out, Up) and Mark Nielsen (associate producer Inside Out), Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story 4 ventures to U.S. theaters on June 21, 2019.

Of course, the toys have ventured out before.  In ‘Toy Story 2’ Woody gets toy-napped by toy collector/seller Al (Wayne Knight) and his friends have to venture out into the larger world to save him.  And ‘Toy Story 3’ showed the entire crew shipped off to Sunnyside Daycare and on their way home, they wind up taking a detour to the town dump.  Where else will the gang journey?  We’ll have to wait to find out.

While the core ‘Toy Story’ cast will return– including Bo Peep, who was missing from the third movie– there will be some new additions.  Yesterday, fans were introduced to Forky, a confused craft project that Bonnie adds to her collection.  ‘Arrested Development”s Buster Bluth, aka Tony Hale, will voice this spork-out-of-water but he won’t be the only new voice/face.

Now Forky has his own promo poster, as does Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) and Ducky and Bunny, two carnival prizes voiced by comedy duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.  We have yet to learn how they enter the story, but it’s sure to be hilarious.

Here are the new posters:
